Palo Alto Networks Partner
Scottish IT company Converged Communication Solutions has further strengthened the cyber security services it delivers to clients by partnering with leading global cyber security specialist Palo Alto Networks.
Aberdeen-headquartered Converged, which provides Internet connectivity, telephony, IT support and cyber security services to clients across Scotland, has become a NextWave channel partner of the American multinational. The agreement means that Converged is the only active Palo Alto Networks partner north of central Scotland, giving organisations across the northern half of the country access to cutting-edge technologies that prevent cyber-attacks.
As an accredited partner, Converged can offer its clients a broad suite of advanced firewalls and cloud-based security products that can play a critical role in protecting users operating on company networks, accessing cloud applications or using mobile devices.
Automated software reduces successful attacks
Palo Alto Networks’ automated software safely crawls an organisation’s entire network to create a benchmark of routines and norms. Against this, unusual activity or suspected cyber-attacks can be identified immediately and acted upon, offering a level of automation that surpasses human management. The software can strengthen network security, reduce successful attacks on a business and form a crucial part of a business continuity plan.
Converged has recently installed over £500,000 worth of Palo Alto Networks cyber security products for clients in north-east Scotland, helping these organisations to bolster their cyber defences.
Cyber security continues to be a major concern for businesses globally
The Global Risks Report 2020, published in January by the World Economic Forum, noted that three-quarters of the 750-plus global respondents expect the risk of cyber-attacks and data theft or fraud to increase during 2020. They also said that cyber security will be a major worry for doing business globally in the coming decade.
Supporting these concerns, the FBI recently announced that individuals and business lost £2.7billion in 2019 through cyber crimes reported to the agency alone. The statistics were included in a report by the service’s Internet Crime Complaint Service, which logged nearly 470,000 complaints from around the world in 2019, including more than 93,000 from people in the United Kingdom.
Partnership is the latest phase in investment
Neil Christie, managing director of Converged, says that cyber security continues to be of growing concern in the north of Scotland. He said: “Over the past 18 months we have seen organisations of all sizes being more mindful of the impact that cyber-attacks and poor cyber security can have. We have invested heavily in enhancing the cyber security services we offer clients – including gaining Certification Body status in the Cyber Essentials Plus standard – and becoming a Palo Alto Networks NextWave partner is the latest phase of that. In addition, we are always on the look out for talented network engineers to join our experienced team.
“Our aim is to provide clients with a bespoke service that is built around their needs using the best-of-breed technologies to strengthen networks and repel cyber-attacks. The advanced firewalls and extensive suite of cloud-based services that Palo Alto Networks offers ensures we can deliver the most robust cyber defences to protect our clients’ digital lives.”
Extensive engineering expertise
Karl Soderlund, SVP of Worldwide Channel Sales at Palo Alto Networks, added: “NextWave partners play a critical role in helping our customers solve their most pressing security challenges. As a NextWave partner Converged Communication Solutions has demonstrated extensive engineering expertise and technology specialisation to successfully integrate Palo Alto Networks’ cyber security offerings that secure the network, endpoint and cloud.”
The NextWave Partner Program provides partners with the pre-sales, sales, and post-sales capabilities to successfully serve as a trusted advisor to integrate cyber security offerings into a hybrid cloud infrastructure; optimise security features; and secure the network, endpoint, and cloud. These capabilities are instrumental in ensuring an optimal customer experience. As such, partners’ achievements in the program are proactively monitored and annually assessed.
